Flash Forward Loses Another Showrunner

Flash_Forward_CastDavid Goyer, co-creator of the series Flash Forward has stepped down as showrunner for the series to focus on his film career. According to Variety, he will still stay on at Flash Forward as an executive producer.  Goyer was the second showrunner for the troubled series, with Mark Guggenheim being the first. As of this moment, there has been no talk of a replacement for Goyer.

“As my feature projects have started ramping up again, I felt I was being pulled in too many directions,” Goyer said in a statement. “I’m proud of the show and excited about the relaunch. It’s in great hands.”

Flash Forward has been having a hard time of it in the ratings. Though it did start to loads of fanfare, it’s audience dropped from a high of 12.5 million to 7.07 million in the three months it was on. With such a long lag time from the airing of  the initial episodes until it’s relaunch in March, it might have a hard time attracting viewers old and new alike back to the show.

Rumors abound all over the web of why he’s leaving  a show that he had outlined for years to come now. Most are speculating he’ll begin writing the script for Batman 3 shortly. Those connected to the Batman franchise are strongly denying the rumors. For both Flash Forward and Batman 3’s future.. we’ll just have to wait and see.
