He brought “300” and “Watchmen” to the big screen and now he has set his sights on the man of steel. Zack Snyder has been chosen to direct the new Superman movie, which Christopher Nolan, who revived the Batman franchise, is producing for Warner Bros.
Snyder was chosen after Nolan and Warners executives spent weeks talking to potential directors including Darren Aronofsky, Ben Affleck, Matt Reeves and Tony Scott. Robert Zemeckis even considered returning to live-action filmmaking for the chance to bring Superman into the 21st century.
A new Superman movie is one of the studio’s top priorities, serving as linchpin for their line of DC superhero-based films. DC projects have been kicked into high gear with the Superman announcement follwing Wonder Woman’s return to television and DC moving their offices to Los Angeles.
