New Regency Pictures has hired Adam Cozad to adapt Mark Greaney’s 2009 thriller novel The Gray Man, according to the Hollywood Reporter.
Greaney’s novel follows Court Gentry – aka “The Gray Man” a CIA operative-turned-assassin who normally moved silently from job to job until one day when he outlived his usefulness. Now he’s on the run in Europe while mysterious forces try to off him. He tries to return home and save his daughters who don’t even know he exists.
Cozad has plenty of expertise in the spy genre. He’s written Dubai, an original action script that Lorenzo di Bonaventura will produce as well as Rules of Deception for Paramount, and The Brotherhood of the Rose for Warner Brothers. Cozad is also writing the as yet untitled Jack Ryan script for Paramount.
