Boosted by a great Saturday, Paramount’s quirky cartoon Rango starring the voice of Johnny Depp, opened to an estimated $38 million from 3,917 theaters. The film fought a sownward spiral at the box office to score the top opening of 2011 for a non-holiday weekend.
