Men in Black 3 Gets 2012 Memorial Day Weekend Release Date

MIB_3DColumbia Pictures has set May 25, 2012 as the release date for Men in Black 3, with director Barry Sonnenfeld to shoot the film in 3D, according to Deadline.

Smith has signed his deal to star in the film with the studio, and deals are in negotiations for both Tommy Lee Jones and Josh Brolin to join him, with Brolin playing a younger version of Agent K.

The film will use a time travel element that takes the story back to 1969 when K was in his early days as a new agent dealing with aliens.

David Keopp has been polishing an original script by Etan Cohen. Cohen is now back to put the finishing touches on the shooting draft. Rick Baker has returned to design and build creatures for the film, and Bo Welch is hard at work designing the sets.
