With the big success of Disney’s Alice in Wonderland, new takes on classic fairy tales are becoming the latest trend in Hollywood. Not to be outdone by Disney, Imagine Entertainment’s Brain Grazer and Ron Howard and Radical Pictures’ Barry Levine are teaming up to develop the upcoming graphic novel titled “Legends” for the big screen, according to The Hollywood Reporter’s Heat Vision blog.
The graphic novel that is being based on was created by Nick Percival and is a “mash-up of steampunk and creatures, technology and magic.” The story begins as the remains of Pinocchio are discovered. Wolf hunter Red Hood and her partner Jack are on the case to discover who is out murdering creatures of folklore. They are assisted by many characters from fairy tales, including a mercenary Goldilocks, as well as the psychic exterminating duo of Hansel & Gretel.
No writer has been hired as of yet to adapt the graphic novel, but Percival’s graphic novel Legends is due in stores later this month. If you’d like to see the trailer for the graphic novel, Click Here.
