Guy Pearce & Maggie Grace Join Besson’s Lock Out

Pearce_Grace_LockoutGuy Pearce (L.A. Confidential) and Maggie Grace (Taken & Lost) have signed on to star in Luc Besson’s new sci-fi/action 3D film, Lock Out (originally titled Section 8), according to Deadline.

In the film, Pearce will play a man wrongly convicted of conspiracy to commit espionage against the U.S. He has been offered the chance of freedom if he can rescue the president’s daughter (played by Grace) from a high-tech prison outer space prison that has been taken over by its violent inmates.

Peter Stormare (The Imaginarium of Dr. Parnassus) and Tom Hollander (Pirates of the Caribbean films)  have also signed on to the film according to The Wrap, though there is no word on who either will play in the film.  Stephen St. Leger and James Mather will direct the film from a script they co-wrote with Besson.

Lock Out is set to go before cameras September 7.  No word yet on a release date.
