Disney Developing Gargoyles Project

Disney is working on an untitled gargoyles project. The studio is in the process of hiring Zoe Green to develop a story revolving around the stone creatures.

The project seeks to build a mythology around the stone carvings. Disney has reached into the past to mine gargoyles before, notably in the animated series in the 1990s. In that series, the gargoyles were protectors of a castle when a curse set them to sleep. The curse was broken in modern-day Manhattan where they protected the city by night.
