Veteran comedic actress Andrea Martin has signed on to the Syfy pilot, Three Inches, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
Three Inches centers around Walter Spackman, an underachieving daydreamer who develops the superpower of being able to move object using his mind – but only a distance of three inches. He’s recruited into a team of superheroes who prove that “super” is only a state of mind.
Martin will play Walter’s mother, Belinda Spackman, a “brutally cynic force of nature” who will do anything to protect her son.
Three Inches comes from Fox Television Studios, executive producer Bob Cooper and Twin Peaks writer Harley Peyton. No word yet on who will play the lead character, but with Andrea Martin in place, casting is off to a great (and hopefully funny) start.
– On a sad note – Our thoughts go out to Andrea and her SCTV co-star and brother-in-law, Martin Short, on the passing of Martin’s wife Nancy Dolman this past weekend.
