The CW announced that “Arrow” will be joining the lineup of CW shows on the fall schedule. Based on the DC Comics title, the hourlong drama is a modern retelling of the legendary DC Comics character Green Arrow.
Stephen Amell stars in the title role. The project, which also counts Paul Blackthorne, Jamey Sheridan, David Ramsey, Colin Donnell, Katie Cassidy and Willa Holland among its cast, hails from pilot season heavyweight Greg Berlanti, Marc Guggenheimand Andrew Kreisberg. David Nutter directed the pilot, which is set up at Berlanti Productions in association with Warner Bros. Television.
The new show is not a spinoff of CW’s last comic based hit, “Smallville,” which featured Green Arrow in its last seasons. Justin hartley played the dual role of Oliver Queen/Green Arrow in the show.
