Though it’s been a long time coming, it looks like everyone’s favorite web-slinger will finally make it to the Broadway stage. Spider-Man: Turn Off the Dark officially has a main cast and Opening Night date set, according to Broadwayworld.com.
Michael Cohl , the lead producer of the upcoming Broadway musical, announced today that joining Reeve Carney (Peter Parker/Spider-Man) in the cast are Jennifer Damiano (Next to Normal) as Mary Jane Watson and Patrick Page (Grinch – the Musical) as Norman Osborn/Green Goblin.
Cohl also announced that preview performances will begin on Sunday November 14 at 3 p.m. with the Opening Night set for Tuesday, December 21 at the Foxwood’s Theatre (213 West 42nd Street). Flying and choreography rehearsals for Carney and select members of the cast have already begun on July 19th. Full company rehearsals will begin on August 16.
Spider-Man: Turn Off the Dark is being directed by the Tony Award winning Julie Taymor, with book by Taymor and Glen Berger. Spider-man’s music and lyrics have been written by U2’s Bono and the Edge. For a look at what the Osborne Industry set will look like, check out the photo below.
