Will Ferrel and Mark Wahlberg playing dumb cops was enough to show that 3D can’t save every movie as “The Other Guys” more than doubled the disappointing take of “Step Up 3D,” to take the top spot at the box office. “Inception,” which led the box office for the last three weeks, fell to second place, taking in $18.6 million.
