Elizabeth Banks has signed to play Peter Pan’s favorite pixie in Disney’s live action film simply titled Tink, according to Variety.
The concept for the film will be similar in tone to Disney’s 2007 hit Enchanted and will “play with the mischievous nature of the Tinkerbell character.” Though not much is known about the film, it is being touted as a romantic comedy.
This is not the first time the diminutive fairy has been done as a live action character. Julia Roberts played her in Hook, and in 2003′s live action Peter Pan by French actress Ludivine Sagnier.
Tink’s script is being written by Elizabeth Wright Shapiro with McG, who is also producing alongside Adam Shankman and Jennifer Gibgot. As of now, no director is attached to the project or release date has been set. Stay tuned for further details…
