Despite a strong performance by Melissa McCarthy and Sandra Bullock‘s “The Heat,” “Monsters University” remained at the top of the box office. Both films crushed Channing Tatumand Jamie Foxx‘s big-budget tentpole “White House Down.” The Pixar film brought in another $48 million over the weekend to keep the top spot.
