Disney and Pixar’s “Monsters University” opened to $82 million, beating Brad Pitt and ‘”World War Z” by almost $20 million. Despite “World War Z” substantially outperforming expectations, it was not enough to take the number one spot from “Monsters, Inc.” sequel which was the No. 2 Pixar opening of all time after Toy Story 3. “Man Of Steel” remained strong in third place, bringing in $41 million in its sophomore week.
