Warner Bros. Announces First Ultra HD Blu-ray Titles

Mad Max: Fury RoadWarner Bros. Home Entertainment announced its first Ultra HD Blu-ray titles will be available on March 1.  The four initial titles, Mad Max: Fury Road, San Andreas, The Lego Movie and Pan, will be followed by select theatrical new release titles available day and date with their initial home entertainment release as well as a selection of catalog titles throughout the year including Man of Steeland Pacific Rim.  The Ultra HD Blu-ray Combo Pack will include an Ultra HD Blu-ray disc with the feature film in 4K with HDR, a Blu-ray disc with the feature film and special features in HD, and a Digital HD version of the feature film.

Ultra HD Blu-ray showcases 4K resolution with High Dynamic Range (HDR) and a wider color spectrum, offering consumers brighter, deeper, more lifelike colors for a home entertainment viewing experience like never before.  Dolby Atmos, which places and moves audio anywhere in the room, including overhead, will be included on Mad Max: Fury Road, San Andreas, and Pan, as well as other select titles for a truly immersive home theater experience.

For the complete 4K Ultra HD experience with HDR, a 4K Ultra HD TV with HDR, an Ultra HD Blu-ray player and a high-speed HDMI (category 2) cable are required.

MAD MAX: FURY ROAD:
Directed by Oscar-winning filmmaker George Miller (Happy Feet) and starring Tom Hardy(The Dark Knight Rises) in the title role and Oscar winner Charlize Theron (Monster, Prometheus) as Imperator Furiosa, Mad Max: Fury Road is the fourth film in the franchise’s epic history. Warner Bros. Pictures’ and Village Roadshow Pictures’ Mad Max: Fury Roadalso stars Nicholas Hoult (X-Men: Days of Future Past) as Nux; Hugh Keays-Byrne (Mad Max, Sleeping Beauty) as Immortan Joe; and Nathan Jones (Conan the Barbarian) as Rictus Erectus. Collectively known as The Wives, Zoë Kravitz (Divergent) plays Toast; Riley Keough(Magic Mike) is Capable; Rosie Huntington-Whiteley (Transformers: Dark of the Moon) is Splendid; supermodel Abbey Lee is The Dag; and Courtney Eaton is Fragile. Also featured in the movie are Josh Helman as Slit, Jennifer Hagan as Miss Giddy, and singer/songwriter/performer iOTA as Coma-Doof Warrior.

Miller directed Mad Max: Fury Road from a screenplay he wrote with Brendan McCarthy and Nico Lathouris. Miller also produced the film with longtime producing partner and Oscar nominee Doug Mitchell alongside executive producers P.J. Voeten, Iain SmithGraham Burkeand Bruce Berman.

PAN
From director Joe Wright (Atonement, Pride & Prejudice) comes Pan, a live-action feature presenting a wholly original adventure about the beginnings of the beloved characters created by J.M. Barrie. The film stars Oscar nominee Hugh Jackman (Les Misérables) as Blackbeard; Garrett Hedlund (Inside Llewyn Davis) as James Hook; Oscar nominee Rooney Mara (The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo) as Tiger Lily; newcomer Levi Miller as Peter; and Amanda Seyfried (Les Misérables) as Mary.  Wright directed Pan from a screenplay written by Jason FuchsGreg BerlantiSarah Schechter and Oscar nominee Paul Webster (Atonement) produced the film alongside executive producer Tim Lewis.

San Andreas reunites Dwayne Johnson with director Brad Peyton and producer Beau Flynn, following their collaboration on the global hit Journey 2: The Mysterious Island. The film also stars Carla Gugino (Night at the Museum, Entourage), Alexandra Daddario (Percy Jackson: Sea of Monsters, True Detective), Ioan Gruffudd (Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer), Archie Panjabi (The Good Wife), Hugo Johnstone-Burt (Australian TV’s Home and Away), Art Parkinson (Game of Thrones) and Oscar nominee Paul Giamatti (Cinderella Man).

San Andreas is presented by New Line Cinema, in association with Village Roadshow Pictures. Richard BrenerSamuel J.
