Tonner Doll Company, an award-winning designer of high-end collectible dolls and figures, is preparing to debut Marvel licensed Tonner Character Figure Captain America.
Tonner’s Captain America will be unveiled at the 2011 Tonner 20th Anniversary Convention Celebration, during the premiere Maevel event. The convention is being held May 19-22, 2011, at the Westin Lombard Yorktown Center in Lombard, IL.
“We were fortunate enough to work on Spider-Man 3 a few years ago, and I am thrilled to be working with more super heroes again,” noted Robert Tonner, CEO and head creative designer at Tonner Doll. “We are looking at all of the classic characters like Captain America, Storm and Jean Grey,” he added.
Another first for Tonner, the Marvel event will be open to the public. In addition to lunch and entertainment, for an admission fee of $225, attendees will get a chance to purchase the brand new Captain America, as well as a special, surprise souvenir doll, also a Marvel character. The Marvel lunch will take place on Saturday, May 21st from 12:30-2:30pm.
Tonner Doll Company, best known for its unique ¼ scale figures, will offer Marvel characters that are approximately 16″-17″ tall with multiple articulated joints for expressive movement and mobility. In the wide world of collectibles, the ¼ scale is highly sought after for its unmatched distinction and posing ability.
In keeping with the fine detail and high-end quality of Tonner’s other popular product lines, Captain America will feature hand-painted facial features and authentic costuming inspired by the character’s life from origin, the Golden Age of Comics.
