Tonner Doll Acquires the James Dean License

James DeanThe Tonner Doll Company has been granted the James Dean license by CMG Worldwide. Tonner is currently planning to release a 16″ James Dean figure in the fall of 2012.

“We are thrilled at the opportunity to create a vinyl miniature James Dean,” said Robert Tonner, CEO, and world famous doll artist and sculptor. “He is the perfect addition to our long line of Hollywood greats, and our Old Hollywood collection just wouldn’t be complete without him.”

James Dean is another notch in Tonner’s belt of Old Hollywood licenses. James arrives on the heels of Tonner’s Marilyn Monroe Collection, and prior to that, the collectible company has seen great success with dolls of Joan Crawford, Ava Gardner, and Bette Davis, as well.

James Dean will arrive on Tonner’s 17″ Matt O’Neill™ body with a James Dean Authorized Likeness head sculpt. He’ll have rooted Saran hair and painted blue eyes, and will be as dreamy as he ever was.

With hand-painted facial details, multiple points of articulation for dynamic posing, and Tonner’s noted quality craftsmanship, James Dean will be a must-have for any Old Hollywood collector.

Tonner’s James Dean will be available on Tonner’s website, www.tonnerdoll.com, at The Tonner Company Store, located at 14 Hurley Avenue in Kingston, NY, and through specialty boutique doll shops.
