The Hulk to Return to TV?

The_HulkNow that the big screen is being infiltrated by costumed superheroes left and right, it’s time for the small screen to join in the fray. After last weeks announcement that David E. Kelley, DC Comics and Warner Brother’s Television are hoping to develop a new  Wonder Woman series, ABC and Marvel are hoping to do the same with The Incredible Hulk, according to The Hollywood Reporter’s Heat Vision blog.

Marvel Studio’s TV head honcho Jeph Loeb (Smallville) and his team have concentrated their energies on the return of the Hulk to TV, but it is not the only Marvel property that is being developed for the small screen.  Word also has it that Loeb is meeting with writers to hear ideas for Cloak and Dagger as a possible series for ABC Family.

Of course, this isn’t the first time the Hulk has graced our TV screens. The CBS version ran from 1978-1982 and starred Bil Bixby as Bruce Banner and Lou Ferrigno as the Hulk. The Hulk has also spawned a few TV cartoon series, as well as two live action/CGI films, the first starring Eric Bana and the second starring Edward Norton.  Mark Ruffalo will play the Hulk in the the upcoming The Avengers film. At this point, there is no word on whether the TV series will have any connection to the Hulk storyline from the film’s universe.

Feels like 1978 all over again…. Stay tuned as more news filters in..
