Everyone’s favorite yellow sponge makes his Nintendo 3DS debut in the wet and wacky video game adventure, SpongeBob SquigglePants.
On this brand-new system, the bubbly world of Bikini Bottom pops to life, giving fans an innovative experience with its vibrant, three-dimensional display. The Nintendo 3DS debut of SpongeBob SquigglePants comes just a month after the game was unveiled on the uDraw GameTabletTM for WiiTM.
Hailed by USA Today as “wacky and frenetic,” SpongeBob SquigglePants brings fans face-to-face with their favorite characters, challenging them to tilt, flip, drag and shake across seven worlds.
The new 3-D adventure also features unique art styles varying from world to world, including “B-Movie,” inspired by the thrilling days of drive-in movies and stylish horror films, “Sketch Bob,” which gives the seaworthy inhabitants of Bikini Bottom a freehand style look; “Simply Bob,” a stylized and abstract interpretation of life under the sea—and many others. Exclusive to Nintendo 3DS, the game also features a never-before-seen art style, Icon Bob, which adds even more replay value.
Patchy the Pirate serves as a live-action host, guiding players through the game and making surprise appearances to interact with players as they tackle more than 100 nanogames—offering an added level of under-the-sea fun.
“The creative microgames and style of play presented in SpongeBob SquigglePants are delightful additions to the genre,” writes Nintendo Power—and now, SpongeBob fans can experience them all in 3-D.
Offering eye-popping 3-D effects and hours of on-the-go fun, SpongeBob SquigglePants for the Nintendo 3DS handheld system is on shelves today (SRP $39.99 U.S.).
