Barry Sonnenfeld has confirmed to Roger Friedman of Showbiz 411 that both stars of the original Men in Black films, Will Smith and Tommy Lee Jones, will be reprising their roles as Agents J and K in the Men in Black 3D. Etan Coen (Tropic Thunder) is in the process of finishing up the script.
For a while, there were talks that the plot would involve time travel and have Smith’s Agent J team up with a younger version of Agent K, played by Josh Brolin. No word yet if the time travel aspect is still in place, or if Jones will be involved only minimally. Other actors supposedly in talks for the film are Sasha Baron Cohen and Jermaine Clement, possibly playing aliens.
While there is nothing really known in regards to plot for the film, speculation is that Sony is aiming for a Memorial Day 2011 weekend opening. Stay tuned for more details as they trickle in…
