Everyone’s favorite badass, Samuel L Jackson, is in negotiations to star alongside Twilight’s Kellan Lutz in the indie action thriller Deathgames.
According to The Hollywood Reporter’s Heat Vision blog, the film takes place in modern times, where men are placed into a modern day gladiator arena as online viewers watch the men fight to the death. Lutz would play a young man who gets kidnapped and gets forced into fighting. Jackson’s character is the gladitorial overlord, who rules over the games from his “computer lair” with “twin ladies who see to his every desire.”
Jackson will be seen shortly as Nick Fury in Iron Man 2 on May 7, and Lutz will be seen next in the Nightmare on Elm Street remake due in theaters April 30, as well as Eclipse, the third Twilight film on June 30.
Deathgames marks the directorial debut for Jonah Loop, who is known as a visual effects supervisor on such films as “Collateral” and “A Perfect Getaway”. He’ll be working from a script by Michael Hultquist, Robert Martinez and Tony Giglio. Shooting is set to begin next month in Louisiana.
