In it’s second week of release, the Denzel Washington action picture “Safe House” narrowly defeated returning films “The Vow” and “Journey 2” as well as newcomer “Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance” to take the top spot at the weekend box office. With $23.96 million for the weekend, “Safe House topped “The Vow by a mere $360,000. “Ghost Rider” rode into third place with $22 million while “Journey 2” rounded out the action heavy weekend with just over $20 million.
