Rockstar Games announced downloadable content plans for the upcoming cinematic action-shooter, Max Payne 3, including a new Rockstar DLC Pass. New multiplayer maps, modes, bursts, items, playable characters, challenges and more will be available to purchase in the coming months on the Xbox LIVE online entertainment network, PlayStation Network for the PlayStation 3, and PC.
“The story of Max Payne 3 begins in the single-player game and crosses over into the deepest multiplayer experience we’ve ever created,” said Sam Houser, Founder of Rockstar Games. “We intend to support the Max Payne community with new and innovative content well into the future.”
The first Max Payne 3 map pack arrives in June 2012. Dubbed “Local Justice,” the Map Pack includes the Police Precinct map for Gang Wars, Deathmatch, Team Deathmatch and Payne Killer multiplayer modes. The pack will also feature two additional maps for Deathmatch, Team Deathmatch and Payne Killer, new precinct-themed multiplayer avatar items, multiplayer challenges, and more.
Beginning today, players can pre-order the Max Payne 3 Rockstar DLC Pass for Xbox LIVE and the PlayStation Network from Best Buy and GameStop in the United States and directly from the PlayStation Network. The Rockstar DLC Pass grants access to all upcoming Max Payne 3 downloadable content and is available for 2400 Microsoft Points (Xbox LIVE), or $29.99 (PlayStation Network and PC) – over a 35% discount compared to purchasing the content individually. Once purchased, the Rockstar DLC Pass enables gamers to download all DLC releasing through the end of 2012, as it is made available on Xbox LIVE, PlayStation Network, and PC.
