Dwayne Johnson and Chris Evans‘ Christmas movie Red One came in on the higher end of expectations with a $34.1 million domestic debut after it looked like the big-budget holiday pic might have trouble getting to even $30 million. The movie cost over $250 million to make.
Gladiator II roared to a record-shattering $87 million from 63 markets — the biggest R-rated international opening in history for Paramount, as well as the biggest foreign launch ever for director Ridley Scott.
