NBC Passes on Wonder Woman

Wonder Woman just can’t get any respect.  Even after generating more buzz than any other pilot being shot for the upcoming fall season and loads of publicity regarding her revamped costume, news has come that NBC has passed on bringing Wonder Woman to our television screens, according to the Hollywood Reporter.

The series would have updated Wonder Woman’s character a bit, making her an L.A.  crime fighter as well as a corporate executive, who tries to find balance in her complicated life.  With a stellar cast for the pilot that included Adrienne Palicki as Diana Prince/Wonder Woman, Cary Elwes, Tracie Thoms and Elizabeth Hurley, it seemed as if the show was a sure thing, but tests and screenings were mixed.

With NBC passing on Wonder Woman, Fox canceling Human target and Smallville’s 10 year run ending, this will be the first time in a decade without a comic based series on air.
