Malkovich Sees Red in New Role

Red CastJohn Malkovich replaces John C. Reilly in the film Red, adapted from the three comic miniseries by Warren Ellis. John C. Reilly left the project in late December for unknown reasons.

The movie revolves around an ex-CIA black ops agent, played by Bruce Willis, who is being hunted down by younger assassins. Malkovich plays a paranoid contemporary of Willis, and joins him to find out who is behind the attempt on Willis’ life.

Malkovich joins a stellar ensemble cast featuring Oscar winners Morgan Freeman, Helen Mirren, Richard Dreyfuss and Ernest Borgnine, as well as Mary Louise Parker and Julian McMahon.  Filming begins in Toronto this week and is scheduled for theatrical release November 19, 2010.
