Lone Ranger Script Rides With Haythe

Lone_Ranger_and_TontoAfter what seems like a long delay, there is finally some news regarding the Lone Ranger film.  According to the Hollywood Reporter, Disney has brought in the screenwriter behind Revolutionary Road Justin Haythe is going to pen the script for the wild west hero.

Even though it seems to some that he might be an odd choice to script this film after writing Revolutionary Road, Haythe had written the update of 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea, a project which has now been shelved after new Disney Chairman Rich Ross took over for Dick Cook.

Though George Clooney and Johnny Depp were tapped to play the Lone Ranger and Tonto respectively last year when this film was announced originally, there is no confirmation of cast at this point. Jerry Bruckheimer is set to produce.
