Premier Pop C Pop Culture News – Movies, Comics, Television, Books, Toys, Games, and More Rocker Lenny Kravitz has joined the cast of the highly anticipated film adaptation of Suzanne Collins’ Hunger Games, according to The Hollywood Reporter’s Heat Vision blog.
Kravitz will be playing the fashion stylist Cinna, who has been assigned to Katniss Everdeen (to be played by Jennifer Lawrence) whose designs become integral to her performance in the Games. Director Gary Ross is very enthusiastic about Kravitz joining the cast.
“When I saw Lenny’s work in Precious, I was just knocked out,” said Ross. “It was quiet and strong and understated and open-hearted: all qualities which define this character.”
Kravitz joins an ever growing cast which includes young stars Josh Hutcherson and Liam Helmsworth, as well as veteran actors Stanley Tucci, Elizabeth Banks and Woody Harrelson in what is turning out to be a star studded film.
The Hunger Games is currently in production and will be in theaters on March 23, 2012.
