Lakeshore to Create I, Frankenstein Film

I_FrankensteinLakeshore Entertainment has bought the screenplay for I, Frankenstein with director Patrick Tatopoulos (Underworld: Rise of the Lycans) attached.

Based on the cult comic book series of the same name by Underworld co-creator Kevin Grevioux, and puts classic monsters in a film noir setting. In it, Frankenstein’s Monster has learned to control his anger and has turned into a private eye.  His arch nemesis is Dracula, who heads up a crime syndicate and the Invisible Man is a secret Agent. Frankenstein’s Monster is the last hope standing between the human race and supernatural creatures bent on the overthrow of the world.

“It is a privilege to be given the chance to direct this highly visual piece,” Tatopoulos said about the news. “Grevioux has created something truly special with I, Frankenstein and I couldn’t dream of a better team than my friends at Lakeshore to make this project happen.”

Even though no one has been cast yet, according to The Hollywood Reporter the project is aiming to star filming in July.
