Kellan Lutz Joins Cast of War of the Gods

The cast of the film War of the Gods is now coming closer to being complete. Twilight’s Kellan Lutz is going from sparkly vampire to a young god for Tarsem Singh’s War of the Gods. According to Variety, Lutz will play Poseidon, god of the seas.

War of the Gods centers on Theseus, played Henry Cavill (the Tudors), who teams up with the Greek Gods to defeat the elder, more sinister Titans led by Hyperion (Mickey Rourke) in order to save earth. Freida Pinto will play a still unnamed oracle priestess who joins Theseus in the epic battle.

War of the Gods has Tarsem Singh (The Fall) set to direct and is a Relativity Media production (Zombieland). Filming is expected to star in April.

Though initially this was being developed at the same time as Clash if the Titans,  this film was stuck in development hell for a while. Let’s just hope that by the time it hits theaters, movie goers aren’t sick of the ancient gods.
