Glee has taken over the hearts and minds of many. It just won the Golden Globe for Best TV Series- Comedy or Musical. Glee just started airing in the UK to raves, sending their version of Journey’s ‘Don’t Stop Believing’ 94 places in one week to number 5 on the UK singles charts. Stars are gladly clamoring for the chance of a cameo in the second half of the season … what could be better? How about the (evil) mastermind behind Dr. Horrible’s Sing Along Blog and Dr. Horrible himself joining in on the fun!
According to Michael Ausiello of Entertainment Weekly got this great scoop on the Golden Globes red carpet, Neil Patrick Harris is close to a deal to do a guest spot including a little song and dance to be directed by Joss Whedon. Glee creator Ryan Murphy is very excited about the prospect of having Neil Patrick Harris on the show and is creating a role especially for him. It would also re-team Neil Patrick Harris with Glee choreographer Zack Woodlee, who worked with him on the 100th episode of How I Met Your Mother.
Joss Whedon is no stranger to musical TV either. His brilliant Buffy the Vampire Slayer episode ‘Once More, With Feeling’ was many years in the making and one of that show’s best. Whedon has been in talks to direct an episode of Glee for a while and seems like he’ll be a perfect fit for the show.
The only fly in the ointment right now is if CBS will allow Neil Patrick Harris to appear on FOX. 20th Century Fox produces both How I met Your Mother and Glee are produced by 20th Century Fox, so from that end, it should be a go.
