Johnny Galecki Joins I’m.mortal

Big Bang Theory star Johnny Galecki is going from playing a sci-fi  loving geek to co-starring in a sci-fi film by joining the cast of writer-director Andrew Niccol’s I’m.mortal, according to Deadline.

The film takes place in the not too distant future where people have stopped aging.  To avoid the over population of earth, time becomes currency. The rich can live forever and the rest of humanity negotiates for their own immortality.  Justin Timberlake plays Will Salas, a man who has run out of time and takes a hostage (Amanda Seyfried) in order to stay alive while on the run from the “time keepers” . Galecki will be playing Timberlake’s best friend,  a screw up who wastes his family’s precious time.  Olivia Wilde will play Timberlake’s mother.

I’m.mortal begins production at the end of this month.  No word yet on a release date.
