Hinds and McTeer Join The Woman in Black

Woman_In_Black_CastCiaran Hinds (Tv’s Rome, The Road to Perdition) and Janet McTeer  (Velvet Goldmine, the West End’s God of Carnage) join Daniel Radcliffe in the Victorian mystery The Woman in Black, for Hammer Films, according to Deadline.

The Woman in Black centers on Arthur Kipps (Daniel Radcliffe) a young lawyer who is sent to a remote village to sort out a recently deceased client’s papers.  He is confronted by a woman dressed in black as he works alone in the client’s isolated house, and begins to uncover tragic secrets about the woman’s true identity.

Hinds has signed on to be a local landowner who counsels Kipps as he unravels the mystery and McTeer will be playing Hinds’ wife. Hinds just recently worked with Radcliffe on Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, Parts 1 and 2, where he played Albus Dumbledore’s brother, Aberforth.

James Watkins (Eden Lake) will direct The Woman in Black, which is based on the classic modern British novel by Susan Hill, from a screenplay by Kick-Ass scribe Jane Goldman.  Shooting begins on September 23 and contrary to earlier reports, the film will not be shot in 3D. No word yet on when this thriller will hit theater screens. Stay tuned for more details as they come in…
