HBO Sets Date for True Blood’s Return

True_Blood_CastHBO’s wildly popular vampire drama, True Blood, will be returning for its third season starting June 13 at 9 PM ET.

The show gained momentum with audiences and went from a cult favorite to a ratings gem for HBO in its second season. It has now grown to be HBO’s most watched series since “The Sopranos” ended its run.

There will be plenty of new characters in the third season, including a hospital orderly, werewolves and new vampires.  New cast members include  Joe Manganiello (How I Met Your Mother), Brit Morgan (The Middleman), Denis O’Hare (Changeling), Kevin Alejandro (Southland) & Alfre Woodard.

Along with a wider audience, the show has garnered some breakthrough nominations this past year. Series star Anna Paquin won the Golden Globe for her portrayal of Sookie Stackhouse, as well the show winning the Television Critics Association Award for Outstanding New Program of the Year.
