EPIX and FEARnet Join Evil Forces to Present “Maidens of Mayhem”

CarrieLet’s hear it for the ladies of horror: those evil, tormented women, who have been inhabited by the devil or perhaps chased by a crazed lunatic wielding a deadly chainsaw. Fear not, your nightmares have been answered as EPIX and FEARnet have partnered to present “Maidens of Mayhem,” a week-long festival of horror films featuring possessed ladies and the men/women and other entities who love them – or want to kill them. The festival begins on FEARnet Monday, October 14th and moves to EPIX on Thursday, October 17th with a special presentation of the original Carrie (1976) starring Sissy Spacek on the eve of the latest film adaptation of the Stephen King novel, starring Chloē Grace-Moretz and Julianne Moore. Following the film, EPIX will present a World Premiere sneak peek at the new movie (see full schedule below).

The femme fatales featured in “Maidens of Mayhem” have a power akin to an enchantress, seductress, vampire, witch or demon, having some power over men – and women, who, by the end of the films are generally found to be no easy pushovers.

“As movie fans anticipate the upcoming release of Carrie, we are pleased to present the original horror classic and to partner with FEARnet to reach all horror fans across both networks with this unique festival,” says EPIX CEO Mark Greenberg.

“This is the type of cross-promotional programming we look for to boost awareness of FEARnet as well as excite the horror fans who watch both our channel and EPIX,” says Peter Block, President and General Manager of FEARnet.
