Energon Universe Special Announced For Free Comic Book Day 2025

Skybound and Image Comics, in collaboration with leading toy and game company Hasbro, announced that they will publish an Energon Universe Special 2025 for Free Comic Book Day on Saturday, May 3, 2025. In celebration of the power of comic books, this special serves as a perfect jumping on point for new readers and a can’t miss for longtime fans, with huge revelations in store, including the first appearance of a major character.  

Discover three all new stories from the Energon Universe, with stunning revelations for the worlds of G.I. JOE, TRANSFORMERS, and Void Rivals from the biggest names in comics. Energon Universe talent Joshua Williamson (Duke, Superman), Robert Kirkman (InvincibleThe Walking Dead), and Daniel Warren Johnson (ExtremityDo a Powerbomb) pen the stories, and Andrea Milana (Cobra Commander), Conor Hughes (White Ash) and Johnson will provide art. Andrea Milana also serves as artist for the FCBD exclusive cover.

The Energon Universe is the crown jewel of the historic collaboration between Hasbro and Skybound, who has introduced a brand-new era of the TRANSFORMERS and G.I. JOE franchises in one shared comic book universe.
