Emma Thompson is now in negotiations to join the cast of Men In Black 3 to play the role of Agent Oh, according to the Hollywood Reporter’s Heat Vision blog.
The plot for the third installment of the MIB series has Agent Jay (Will Smith) traveling back in time to 1969, where he meets up with a young Agent Kay (Josh Brolin) to deal with an intergalactic menace (Jemaine Clement). Thompson’s character is a take-charge MIB Operative, who is trying contain a prison break, which presumably has something to do with Clement’s character. Tommy Lee Jones is reprising his role as the older Agent Kay, although his screen time substantially smaller.
MIB 3 begins production later this month in New York City with the original MIB director Barry Sonnenfeld back at the helm. At this time, the film is set to shoot in 3D. Men in Black 3 is set to hit theaters May 25, 2012.
