Downey Jr Out, Craig (possibly) In for Cowboys & Aliens

Cowboys & Aliens Just one day after Robert Downey Jr had to opt out of the film Cowboys & Aliens due to conflicts with Sherlock Holmes 2, it looks as though director Jon Favreau has found a replacement in Daniel Craig. Variety has confirmed that  a deal is in the works to get the Bond star in the role of Zeke Jackson, a wild west cowboy who teams up with a band of Apaches to fight against an alien invasion in mid 19th century Arizona.

If everything is a go, the production will start shooting in June of this year, with a summer 2011 release date.
