One time teen heartthrob and young star of the Lost Boys, Corey Haim has passed away in the early hours of March 10th, in Los Angeles at the age of 38. Haim was suffering from flu-like symptoms and four prescription medications were found at his home. Haim was found unresponsive in his apartment in L.A.’s San Fernando Valley and was taken to Providence Saint Joseph Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead.
He started his career at the age of 10 with commercials. Firstborn was his first film, coming at the age of 13. His big breakthrough was the title role in the film Lucas.
With 1987’s The Lost Boys, he and the other Corey (Corey Feldman) became fast friends, as well as teen idols. More films followed with the two including License to Drive and Dream a Little Dream. Their friendship endured for years, though Haim became addicted to drugs and drinking. In 2007, the TV reality show The Two Coreys, lasted for two seasons until a Haim’s continued drug use and a falling out between the two was caught on film caused the show to end. The two did reconcile after the show’s end.

Haim was in the midst of making a comeback over the last couple of years, with a role in Crank: 2 and a small role in The Lost Boys: The Tribe. Producer Tina Brown said Haim was set to start filming his directorial debut with the film A Detour in Life later this spring. In 2008, Haim had put out a full page ad in Variety, which read “This is not a stunt. I’m back. I’m ready to work. I’m ready to make amends.”

Police Sgt. Michael Kammert said that there seems no evidence at the scene of foul play. An autopsy will be conducted to determine his cause of death.
