Aspyr Media, in partnership with 2K Games and Irrational Games, announced that BioShock Infinite, the sequel to the award-winning BioShock, is now available worldwide on the Mac. Developed by Irrational Games and brought to the Mac by Aspyr, BioShock Infinite lifts players out of the familiar confines of Rapture and rockets them to Columbia, an immense city in the sky, where they’ll set out to rescue Elizabeth, a young woman imprisoned there since childhood.
“Bringing the latest installment of one of the industry’s most critically acclaimed and beloved franchises to the Mac has been amazing,” said Michael Rogers, president of Aspyr Media. “BioShock Infinite is North America’s best-selling multiplatform game so far this year, and we are delighted to now offer it to Mac users everywhere.”
Set in 1912, players assume the role of former Pinkerton agent Booker DeWitt. Forced to trust one another, Booker and Elizabeth form a powerful bond during their daring escape. Together, they learn to harness an expanding arsenal of weapons and abilities, as they fight on zeppelins in the clouds, along high-speed Sky-Lines, and down in the streets of Columbia, all while surviving the threats of the air-city and uncovering its dark secret.
BioShock Infinite for Mac is available on both Steam and the Mac App Store. Furthermore, Mac users may purchase online game codes for the Steam version of BioShock Infinite from their participating Mac game retailer of choice, including Aspyr’s own GameAgent.com, where users can easily and quickly test whether their Mac meets the game’s minimum system requirements by using GameAgent’s Mac Match feature.
