Nerd Block Announces Partnership with Penguin Random House

Nerd BlockNerd Block has partnered with Penguin Random House to deliver best-selling books by a wide range of notable celebrities from the entertainment worlds of film, television, gaming, and literature.

“As nerds, the stories we cherish have often been influenced by great literature,” says Russ Montague, President of Nerd Block. “Our intelligent audience is hungry for powerful storytelling, and by partnering with Penguin Random House, we are able to surprise our customers with the hottest books from across a variety of geek fandoms via Nerd Block Classic, Nerd Block Jr., Horror Block, and Arcade Block.”

Subscribers to Horror Block have already received their first novel: The bestseller “Bitten” by Kelley Armstrong, and a lucky few subscribers even received a “gold ticket” version signed by the author. Similarly, Nerd Block subscribers have received copies of Simon Pegg’s book, “Nerd Do Well,” and more recently, copies of Kevin Smith’s book, “Tough Sh*t.”  As Nerd Block’s relationship with Penguin Random House deepens, subscribers will receive books from other well-known writers and celebrity authors.

“Working with Penguin Random House enables us to offer our subscribers exceptional value,” adds Montague. “It not only allows us to include amazing literature, but also gives us access to the latest video game strategy guides from Prima Games and BradyGames. Plus, this partnership offers subscribers an exciting way to connect with their favourite celebrities.”

Going one step further, leading authors whose books are selected for Nerd Block, Nerd Block Jr., Horror Block, and Arcade Block will, in certain cases, also be encouraged to curate items for that month’s block. Subscribers can expect to receive Penguin Random House books several months of the year, which will be tied into big book releases and film, television, and video game events.

“Working with Nerd Block offers us a unique way to introduce our authors to a new audience of passionate readers,” says C. Jordan Fenn, Vice President, Director, New Business Development, for Penguin Random House Canada. “Nerd Block is a creative forward thinking business and we are excited to see our publications included in their monthly themed box subscriptions.”
