All Quiet on the Western Front Comes To Blu-ray

Relive the drama, conflict and power of one of the most influential anti-war films ever made with All Quiet on the Western Front , now on Blu-ray for the first time ever featuring perfect hi-def picture and perfect hi-def sound.  This remarkable digitally remastered and fully restored edition is available for a limited time on Blu-ray Combo Pack, including DVD and Digital Copy and debuts on February 14, 2012, from Universal Studios Home Entertainment.  Film historian Leonard Maltin calls the film “a milestone in American moviemaking” and provides a special introduction in the collectible hardcover book packaging, which also features rare movie memorabilia reproductions, studio newsletters, posters and photos.  The Blu-ray Combo Pack is also loaded with hours of bonus features including a rarely seen “silent” version of the film presented by the Library of Congress.

All Quiet on the Western Front is a hard-hitting, timeless masterpiece that follows a group of idealistic young men as they naively join the German Army in WWI only to find their patriotism destroyed by the brash and bloody realities of combat while on assignment at the Western Front.  As Universal Studios’ first Academy Award winning film for Best Picture, this revered classic earned Lewis Milestone an Oscar for Best Director and nominations for Best Writing and Best Cinematography.
