Premier Pop C Pop Culture News – Movies, Comics, Television, Books, Toys, Games, and More Adult Swim announced today it has picked up a second season of the live-action comedy Eagleheart. The series debuted on the network in February, starring Chris Elliott in his first lead television role since the cult favorite, Get A Life. Elliott returns as U.S. Marshal Chris Monsanto along with Brett Gelman (The Other Guys), and Maria Thayer (Forgetting Sarah Marshall) as his sidekicks Brett and Susie.
Head of Adult Swim Mike Lazzo said, “I’ve never seen so many executive producers on one 15-minute show!”
Across the first quarter of 2011, Eagleheart was #1 in its timeslot among adults/men 18-34 and 18-49, and it ranked as basic cable’s #1 sitcom with men 18-34 and men 18-49.
Every episode of Eagleheart promises violence, suspense, intrigue and copious amounts of needless bloodshed as Marshal Chris Monsanto blindly kicks, punches and shoots his way to what may or may not be a legitimate solution to his case. On any given day, Monsanto, along with his partners Brett and Susie, and under the watchful authority of Chief (Michael Gladis), may battle a pair of evil twin gubernatorial candidates, surgically alter his appearance to investigate a string of elderly kidnappings, track missing mountain lions to the center of the earth or punch people so hard they explode.
Created by former Late Night with Conan O’Brien writers Michael Koman and Andrew Weinberg, Eagleheart is produced by O’Brien’s Conaco Productions and Dakota Pictures. It is executive produced by Koman, Weinberg, Jason Woliner, Troy Miller, Tracey Baird, David Kissinger, Conan O’Brien and Jeff Ross. Richard Schwartz is the co-executive producer. Overseeing the project for Adult Swim is executive producer Matt Harrigan.
