Third Riddick Film Now Confirmed

Vin_Diesel_RiddickAfter years of David Twohy and Vin Diesel promising to bring back Riddick, Universal has finally confirmed that a third film for the franchise is now in the works, and it will simply be called Riddick, according to Variety.

Universal had been balking at another film for a while, considering The Chronicles of Riddick didn’t live up to their expectations. Their reason now for the change of heart is Twohy’s decision to shave down the scale of the latest film, with it focusing more on Diesel’s character, and will be more in the same tone of the first film Pitch Black.

As with the first two films in the franchise, Twohy is back as both director and writer on the project. It is most likely to shoot after Diesel  finishes work on the fifth Fast and Furious film.
