Emile Hirsch to Star in The Darkest Hour

Darkest_Hour_castEmile Hirsch has signed on to the film The Darkest Hour, according to Variety.  He will be joining Olivia Thirlby (Juno) who was cast last week in the film to be directed by Chris Gorak, from a screenplay by Josh Zetumer.

The film is set in Moscow and follows a group of young Americans traveling in Russia as they get caught up in a battle for earth’s survival when aliens invade.

The film will be shot at producer Timur Bakmembatov’s custom built production facility this summer.  No word on a release date.
