David E. Kelley Brings Wonder Woman to Television

Wonder WomanAfter years of attempts to bring Wonder Woman to the big screen, Warner Bros. Television is developing a modern-day reboot of the classic DC comic book heroine. While Joss Whedon, best known for Buffy The Vampire Slayer, had been attached to the movie treatment, the television series has gone in a different direction, working with David E. Kelley to potentially write and produce the superhero project. David E. Kelley is best known for legal dramas such as “Ally McBeal,” “Boston Legal” and “The Practice,” but has also explored a more skewed side of life with “Picket Fences.”

Though the 1975-79 TV series starring Lynda Carter remains the most memorable version of the character in pop culture, major networks have struggled to make female-driven action series.
