Clash Will Be in 3D

Clash_of_the_TitansTo 3D or not to 3D…that seems to be the big question for studios following the blinding success of James Cameron’s Avatar. Rumors persisted for weeks about Clash of the Titans getting the 3D treatment.  Will it? Won’t it?

The film starring Sam Worthington and directed by Louis Leterrier was not shot with 3D in mind, but according to The Hollywood Reporter’s Heat Vision Blog, execs at Warner Brothers are so pleased with the conversion tests they did on the film that they are going to spend the extra money to convert the film to 3D. The studio has already pushed back the release date one week from March 26th to April 2nd to give time for the conversion process when both 2D and 3D versions will be released simultaneously. Warner Brothers is so pleased with the project that it seems that things are now in motion to make Clash into another film franchise.

In related news,  earlier this week the studio had confirmed that the next two installments of the Harry Potter franchise, “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows”, parts 1 & 2 will also be released in both 2D and 3D with release dates of November 19th, 2010 and July 15th, 2011 respectively.
